5.0 Planes of Expression Evaluations
The Expression of Activity - How We Act

We are not single. We have a body, a mind, a heart, and a spirit. These qualities combine to make us what we are and they are the avenues of communication through which we think, work, love, plan, dream, design our life, and express our feelings. According to the degree of balance among these four qualities or the intensity with which we express one or more of the four planes, are our temperament, disposition, our reactions to people, circumstances, and to ourselves.

Planes of Expression is one of the most important and detailed aspect as far as numerology reading is concerned. Planes of Expression Number reveal how best you can express your inner self to others.

The word expression used here really means activity or how we act. This determination of expression is a product of birth name; the full birth name, but in this exercise we are going to consider each and every letter. We will build a table and each letter will have its spot.

In Numerology, the Temperament or Planes of Expression reading can describe the mental, physical, emotional and intuitive makeup of an individual. We all experience our lives from these four different viewpoints. Some of us are more physical, while others are more intellectual.

Within Numerology, each letter in your name is part of one of these four methods of personal expression. Counting up the letters in your name, and grouping them by the four categories (planes), will give you a guidance chart of your ability to express from these 4 categories.

if you have a lower score for a particular aspect, it doesn't mean that you'll necessarily be weak in that aspect. Lower scores for a particular aspect could signify potential challenges for you in the other categories, or an under utilized aspect of yourself. For instance, if you have a low emotional score that could represent someone who has come to rely more on instinct and intuition than emotion.

Each letter of the alphabet is placed in one of four planes of expression or temperament: Mental, Physical, Emotional or Intuitive. To get a grasp of these, you should think of mental letters as leading to qualities that rely heavily on the mind, on reasoning, and using facts to make decisions; physical plane letters suggests the systemic behavior of the disciplined, the practical, the builder, using energies on the here and now; emotional plane letters develop qualities of imagination, originality and inspiration, guided by emotions and sentiment; finally, intuitive plane letter promote inspiration, idea development, spiritual inclination, and what you might call that sixth sense.

Besides the four energy planes there are also three specific qualities that the letters may fall into that will determine the nature of how that letter will affect the plane that it is listed on: Creative (inspiring), Vacillating (wavering), Grounded (practical).

The Creative column is used to indicate the letters which will have an inspirational effect in the particular plane that they are shown at. The Vacillating or wavering column will show those letters which are not quite practical and not quite grounded. The Grounded column indicates the parts of your expression which are practical, reserved and calculating. You can look at the totals columns as a sketch of how your personality is being expressed, for instance if you have more Creative Letters in your Mental Plane this would indicate a creative approach to decision making rather than a practical approach.

Notice that not a single letter in the alphabet is both grounded and emotional.
All vowels are creative with the exception of the U, which is vacillating.

As stated previously, Planes of Expression is one of the most important and detailed aspect as far as numerology reading is concerned. Planes of Expression Number reveal how best you can express your inner self to others. Each letter of the alphabet is categorized into four major categories - Physical (Body), Mental (Mind), Emotional (Soul) and Intuitive (Spirit). The proportion of each category in your name reveals aspects of your real talents and abilities.

Human beings are said to have four planes of expression:
  1. Physical: This deals with the physical pleasures and feelings of touch, taste and pain.
  2. Mental: This deal with our mental makeup and how we perceive the invisible world.
  3. Emotional: This deal with feelings of the heart.
  4. Intuitive: This deal with contact with the higher forces of nature. This is not rational and doesn't follow logic of any kind.
One of these planes is more active than the rest and it differs from person to person. These four faculties exist in all of us. But each of us depends more on one or two of them for the bulk of our knowledge. Some of us are possessed by our senses, while others live almost exclusively in our hearts, or minds.

Numerology indicates how we as individuals function on each plane. Planes of Expression number focuses the limelight on our character, our activities, purposes and our underlying talents. Each of us certainly experience life based on the four different levels. Each of these areas possess a specific meaning which can be understood by calculating the Planes of Expression Numbers.

They show all of the vibrational energies of each letter in your birth name, as they relate to one of 4 personality aspects: Physical (Body), Mental (Mind), Emotional (Heart) and Intuitive (Spirit) energy. These are the ways in which you handle problem solving and daily tasks. The Physical plane letters indicate those aspects of your personality that revolve around your five senses, as well as to your potential for physical strength, endurance and size. The Mental plane letters indicate those aspects of your personality that revolve around thinking, strategy, problem solving and learning. The Emotional plane letters indicate those aspects of your personality that revolve around sensitivity, emotion, relationships and feelings. The Intuitive plane letters indicate those aspects of your personality that revolve around intuition, introspection and inner perception.

Planes of Expression Number are calculated from your full name. Each digit assigned to each letter of your name is specific to a certain plane of expression. The four faculties which are the basis of calculating the Planes of Expression persists in all of us. But we generally depend on one or two of them. Some of us are possessed by our senses; while others exist almost exclusively in our inner minds. Numerology indicates how, as individuals, we function on each plane.

The proportion of each category in your name gives a good indication of which Planes of Expression are strongest in you, and which ones are weaker.
The sum (reduced to a single digit or Master number) of the numbers found on each plane reveals how you deal with your experiences on that plane.

The higher the score, the stronger the correlating aspect is within the individual. This could also mean that other aspects will be absent or weaker. If one expression is missing, this could mean that emphasis is placed on the other aspects, perhaps causing an over reliance on one or more of them.

For example, if your name indicates a strong Physical Plane then you may be more inclined than others to try to find a way to solve your issues through swift action, rather than strategizing (Mental) or reaching out (Emotional) to others for insights or help. Each of the 4 aspects has its own strengths and weaknesses. Some of us live by our senses, while others live almost exclusively in their hearts, or in their minds. Your chart indicates how you function on each plane. Part of your challenge in understanding the different planes will be to understand how they shape your life. You can use your Planes of Expression reading to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your aspects. When one aspect is weaker than another, this does not necessarily indicate that you have problems in that aspect, it simply can mean that that aspect in your life is not an outstanding issue for you. However, know that over-reliance on any one aspect can indeed bring about unbalance. It is better to hone all of your skills and talents, rather than relying on only one or a few. Reaching out, and working with others, can help you to hone your abilities.

When you find ways to bring balance into your life, you'll be better equipped to express yourself on all the levels. You may look to your Core Numbers for guidance in this respect. You can use the chart below to ask questions of yourself and your abilities. You'll start by focusing on your stronger aspects, and eventually work on answering all of the questions for yourself. The questions are just a starting point, and it is hoped that you can look to how you use your stronger aspects to live and shape your life and relationships. In a relationship it may be a valuable exercise to discuss your ability to express through all of the aspects.

Your Planes of Expression can help you to develop an inner strength which will help you to more confidently deal with the issues of life. We all develop a sense of personal accomplishment from knowing that we can handle problems and complete important tasks in our lives. Finding ways to effectively deal with your personal struggles involves knowing your inner strengths and weaknesses, and perhaps reaching out for help from others . Some of us may face the challenge of knowing whether or not we need others for help in solving or coping with problems. The Planes of Expression can help you to better see into your personal makeup and develop awareness of your strengths and needs. Being more aware of yourself and the way in which you handle problems, may help you to be more conscious within your daily life. A greater awareness can make you more relaxed and better able to cope with everyday situations. In coping, know that with the more independence you desire, then the more responsibility you put on your own shoulders. Part of your work may also be to balance coping, independence, and awareness.

We should see now that each of us experiences life on four different levels: with our physical body; our mental faculty; our emotional makeup; and our intuition. Each of these areas has a specific means of perceiving information. The physical body is capable of touch, taste, pleasure, and pain. It provides us with a sense of the physical world. The mental body, like the emotional and intuitive natures, perceives the invisible worlds. Our minds deal with the world of thought. The heart, of course, is preoccupied exclusively with the world of emotion. Our feelings teach us many things about ourselves and about others. Finally, we have the capacity for direct contact with the higher realms by way of intuition. Intuitive insight comes in a flash. It is not rational - that is the world of the mental plane - but comes as if it were placed at the doorstep of our minds. Intuition, therefore, bypasses all effort save that of perception.

These four faculties exist in all of us. But each of us depends more on one or two of them for the bulk of our knowledge. Some of us are possessed by our senses, while others live almost exclusively in our hearts, or minds. Numerology indicates how we as individuals function on each plane.

In summary then, the Planes of Expression is based on your birth name. This can be used to illustrate the strengths/weaknesses of your personality, which is divided into 4 aspects (mental, emotional, physical, and intuitive) . We all have a body, mind, heart, and spirit. These aspects make us who we are. We are all unique, and are influenced by these aspects in different ways. Our personal aspects color the way in which we work, love, communicate, plan, express and live.
