Your Name (Expression) Number
|
The Expression is derived from all the letters in your name. It is the sum of both your soul and dreams. This is how the world see's you, it is how you express yourself to the outside world. A common mistake to make in Numerology is to call this your Destiny. This is incorrect, you are not the path you travel. Your Destiny is your Life Path which is calculated from your date of birth. Expression Number is also referred to as Name Number.
The name you were given at birth tells a wonderful story. Your name is what you must be this life. It is a 'Divine Promise' of opportunity. When embracing the qualities of this vibration, you find that your soul adds to its experiences, knowledge, and growth. In the Expression number, you will find evidence of your purpose. As you synthesize this core part, you will also discover a deeper connection to your other parts. Sometimes natural abilities are also found within a person's Expression number.
It describes a person’s potential talents—the natural abilities as well as the related character traits. For most of us, these talents and skills are there at birth, although they are usually further developed as an individual grows and matures. Very often—but not always—these particular abilities are of primary importance in a person’s work and career. Frequently, the talents described by the Expression form the central feature of an individual’s career.
What you must do in this lifetime; what you came here to manifest; the person you aim to be. It reveals your physical and mental constitution and represents a lifelong target at which you are aiming. You work at fulfilling this potential every day of your life.
The Expression is derived by calculating the sum of the number values of all the letters in the name—for example, the letters in the full name appearing on the birth certificate.

The Soul Urge is influential in determining a person’s point of view and the principles on which he acts. Although the Life Path and Expression are generally easy to see in a person, the inner motivation is often a very private matter—unless revealed through the use of numerology.

Your Personality Number
|
Also referred to as Your Inner Dreams or Outer Personality Number.
The sum of the consonants in your name relates a secret dream, your inner desires, or maybe even fantasies.
This number is also associated with your personality or how people see you on first meetings. This number may be so strong in your subconscious that you even project the trait as a personality mask.
Narrow entrance hall to the great room that is your true nature. It’s the first impression that people get of you; it’s how you appear to others; it is not necessarily what you really are. It shows what people expect from you because of the image you present.
The information within the Personality gives us an understanding of how others may attempt to see and direct us. It provides us with insight on which aspects of our personality others may recognize and validate. This information is derived from their first surface impressions. What we are describing is the influence the outer world has on us. Yes, the Personality number has qualities that are very much a part of us. We may be content with what this vibration has to offer for a while. What you secretly desire and dream, possibly something you may not even be aware of or acknowledge.

Your Balance Number
|
Your Balance number is found from the initials of your full name at birth.
Your balance number is a number that indicates the stabilizing factor for you in your life. In a period of crisis, confusion, or instability, this is the quality that is going to enable you to start gaining a foothold in life again and gaining some control of events. This is also a quality that will give nourishment to your soul and make things seem better and more hopeful and will give you the energy necessary to propel you forward again.
People experience different internal responses to life's challenges. Some withdraw from difficult situations to think them through; others withdraw from their emotions, to try and keep themselves from feeling anything. Some explode with emotions, but allow the explosion to pass quickly. Others linger with their feelings, holding on to them well past the time they should have let them go.
Maturity and self-development help us to learn new and more effective methods of handling our world and the problems we confront. Your Balance number provides you with the guidance on how best to deal with difficult or threatening situations.
Balance number can give you ideas as to how to deal with difficult situations. To know how to be cool in times of trouble, you need to know what your balance number unfurls. Whenever you are about to get angry, remember the famous quote ‘health is wealth’ and the fact that getting angry at things or people will do more harm than good to your health. Having faith and a courageous heart is the key to overcome anger and/or irritation and surface as a more matured person.
Balance-number can also help you choose the right path of life. If and when you are lost and craving for light to replace the darkness it’s the balance-number that comes to your aid. If you are on the lookout for an effective self-improvement method, getting a reading of your expression number is the solution that you should turn to.

Your Karmic Debt
|
There is a theory in Numerology that a few numbers bring qualities along with them that suggest karmic, or unfinished, business. It may be that we choose to create lessons in these areas to round out our natures. Another possibility is that we want to develop qualities that were somewhat void in the past. Either way, Karmic Numbers can feel a bit more challenging than others. If you have a Karmic Number as one of your Core Elements, you may experience the number as over-balanced or under-balanced before experiencing a fully balanced and accessible energy.
So, during our life path, we have accumulated a wealth of wisdom, and have made many good choices that benefit us in future. We have also made mistakes, and have sometimes abused the gifts we have been given. To rectify such errors, we may take on an additional burden in order to learn a particular lesson that we failed to learn in previous times. In numerology, this burden is called a Karmic Debt.
The numbers that indicate a Karmic Debt are 13, 14, 16, and 19. These double-digit numbers take on great significance when they are found in the core numbers (the most important numbers including the Life Path, Expression, Heart's Desire (or Soul Urge), Personality, and Birth Day), and in the various cycles during the course of your lifetime. Each has its own unique characteristics, and its own particular difficulties.
When you are calculating your chart — especially you core numbers and different cycles — you may encounter the numbers 1, 4, 5, or 7. These single-digit numbers can be arrived at by adding a variety of two-digit numbers. The number 1 can be arrived at, for example, by combining the double-digit numbers of 10 (1 + 0 = 1), 19, 28, 37, 46 — all of which total to 10, and then to 1. However, only in the case of 19 is a Karmic Debt indicated. Karmic Debts are also associated with the numbers 4, 5, and 7. These numbers can be preceded by an array of two-digit numbers, but when the 4 is preceded by a 13; or when the 5 is preceded by a 14; or the 7 by a 16; a Karmic Debt is also read as part of the single-digit interpretation.
A Karmic Debt can be found in different places in the chart as a result of totals based on your date of birth, for instance, or calculations based on the letters of your name.
This means that two people with a 16 Karmic Debt that is located in different places in the chart, express it very differently. Thus, all that can be done is to lay out the general characteristics of the Karmic Debt, and some broad guidelines for dealing with it.
Look for these Karmic Numbers in your Core Elements. Reflect on the area of your life that the Core Element represents and note where you may find confusion from the Karmic Number that is present there.

Your Hidden Passion
|
Numbers that appear several times in your name represent a particular strength or ability. The number that is most often repeated in your name represents your specific field of expertise, or a concentrated talent.
When numbers in a name are repeated, they are intensified. The number repeated the most reveals the passion. It represents a particular strength in a field of expertise or a concentrated talent.
Metaphorically, this talent can be seen as having a power all its own to shape your life. Its existence gives you a strong desire to develop and to express that particular ability. Having the talent demands that you express it, that you experience this part of you, and that you live according to its nature. In this way, the Hidden Passion shapes your personality, and guides your life.
Some names contain more than one hidden passion. That is the case when more than one number is tied with the most repetitions.

Your Subconscious Self
|
The Subconscious Self number is found from the number of digits represented in your name.
The Subconscious Self reflects the confidence you have in your personal power and competence, as well as in your ability to deal with sudden events and situations. It shows your capacity to correctly assess a situation and to respond appropriately.
In the Subconscious Self it is possible to have all nine numbers represented in your name, or fewer than nine; in fact as few as three or as many as eight. For example, you may be missing a 6 or a 7. This means that when you encounter a situation that requires the characteristics of a 6 or a 7, there will be some feeling of inadequacy, or uncertainty as to how to properly deal with the demands of the situation.
On the other hand, you still have the other seven or eight numbers represented in you name, which means your ability to deal with situations that require any of those numbers is well-developed. You posses a certain confidence or assurance that makes you feel familiar with the situation, and able to deal with effectively. Hence, a person with eight numbers represented in the name will tend to be more confident in most situations than a person with only five numbers.
In general, someone with eight numbers in his name is quite capable of dealing with most situations.
Paradoxically, a person with all nine numbers represented tends to be aloof or overly complacent when dealing with sudden events.
Your Subconscious Self reveals how you react to demanding situations. It indicates your ability to get the most out of your talents and opportunities, especially when you face new or challenging circumstances. The Subconscious Self also reveals the areas of our character that need to be strengthened.

Your Karmic Lessons
|
Numerology is based on the understanding that we enter life with certain strengths and weaknesses. Karmic Lessons are areas that we are currently weak in, and that we must face and work on in this life. There can be more than one Karmic Lesson.
Each letter in your name corresponds to a specific number. Certain numbers repeat within your name, while others may be missing. Karmic Lessons are indicated when one or more of the nine single-digit numbers are missing in your name. A Karmic Strength is suggested when a number is represented two or more times. This is called a Hidden Passion.
The letters and numbers of your name point to talents and abilities that you possess. These characteristics can be compared to a workshop in which certain tools are available to you. Missing numbers, those that are not represented in the letters of your name, imply tools that are unavailable, and that must be learned and mastered during this lifetime.
For people with three or more numbers missing, it is supremely important to focus on your career and talents, and to persevere in the face of any difficulty or obstacle. The kind of keyhole energy suggested by such a name gives you the ability to achieve great success in a specific part of life; but before such a success can be achieved, adversity must be overcome. Perseverance, therefore, becomes the key to happiness.

Your Special Letters
|
Each letter in your First Name represents your characteristics, but the location of the letters can determine their impact.
If you use your first name, it especially shows you what your unique tendencies are. If you use your family(last) name, it shows the tendencies inherent in all the family members with that same last name.
Cornerstone
The first letter of your First Name (use your first name at birth) is called the Cornerstone. It gives you an indication of your character, particularly in the way you approach opportunities and obstacles.
This analysis shows how you identify or look at things around you in this materialistic world. Each person has his or her own way of looking at issues and situations. Get a clear view of your idea of perception. Does your viewpoint match with others or are you always ready to get into a fight?
Capstone
The last letter of your first name reveals your ability and attitude toward finishing projects that you start. Together, your Cornerstone and Capstone can tell you much about your capacity to start and finish a project successfully.
A capstone shows your attitude towards completion of a job. Do you complete the projects that you plan or do you leave them half way? This can even help you choose the right career based on your level of concentration.
First Vowel
The first vowel of your first name reveals something of your deeper self. It is a big part of yourself that you do not reveal easily or indiscriminately, and it is usually recognized only by your relatives and friends. The first vowel of your name is the little window through which you allow the uninitiated a glimpse at your deeper self. This letter reveals your first emotional reaction to events that affect you either directly or indirectly.
Note: If your first vowel is also the Cornerstone, or first letter of your name, you could have difficulty making quick decisions. Your logical and emotional reactions to circumstances will tend to become confused.
Keystone
The Keystone is the middle letter of your use name; the common name you go by. Note that many names don't have a Keystone letter; only names with an odd number of letters will have this feature. The Keystone letter doesn't have the power over you that a Cornerstone or first vowel letter does; but the influence is still there. This letter, if you have one predicts what may be a compulsion or an obsession for you; a place where your life lacks balance.
Example Interpretation
It is interesting to note that a person who uses a first name with a different first vowel as the original birth name is particularly apprehensive of revealing his or her deeper self.
Try to read the Special Letters as applying specifically to the areas of your personality as described above.
For example, under Special Letter A, you find it to be ambitious.
This ambition is related to the way you approach opportunities if it is a Cornerstone.
As a First Vowel, the A reveals that you are more ambitious than you let on.
As a Capstone, it shows you to be the kind of person who will push on until a project is completed - if necessary without anyone's help.
